For almost all drones (including those under 250g equipped with a camera), the following steps are mandatory: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dual registration:<\/strong> You must register your drone with two separate authorities: the CAAT and the NBTC.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mandatory insurance:<\/strong> Civil liability insurance with minimum coverage is required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Preparation:<\/strong> The entire process must be initiated well before your arrival in Thailand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-l-enregistrement-obligatoire-une-double-demarche\">Mandatory Registration: A Two-Step Process<\/h2>\n\n<p>This is the most important and confusing point for visitors. Unlike the CAAT, this process must be completed once you are in Thailand . You must physically visit an <strong>NBTC<\/strong> office (located in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, etc.). The required documents are similar to those for the CAAT, plus the CAAT registration form that you will have already obtained.   <\/p><br \/>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-l-assurance-responsabilite-civile-une-protection-indispensable\">Civil Liability Insurance: Essential Protection<\/h2>\n\n<p>Third-party liability insurance is <strong>strictly mandatory<\/strong> for registering and flying a drone in Thailand.
