A month ago, I received the Antigravity A1 at home. A drone unlike any other… and that’s an understatement.
Since then, I’ve taken it everywhere: cliffs, forests, beach, roads, family outings… and even just behind my house to “steal 10 minutes” (which often turn into 40 minutes… you know).
After 30 days of actual use, I can finally tell you clearly what’s great, what’s less great, and most importantly , who this 360° drone is really for .
Spoiler alert: I understand why Insta360 created a separate brand for himself.

⭐ First impressions: a tiny drone… and yet completely different
When you take the A1 out of its box, the first reaction is:
“OK, how can something so small do so much?”
It weighs less than 249g, which puts it just below the regulatory limit in most countries.
But above all, its unique design, with one lens at the top and one at the bottom , means that in flight… it disappears . Completely. A truly invisible drone.
The setup is simple: activate the batteries, do a small update via the app, connect the Vision glasses… and in 10 minutes you can fly.
Frankly, it’s simpler than a lot of classic drones.

⭐ What I really loved during these 30 days
1. Total immersion: Vision glasses are insane!
As soon as you put them on, you feel like you “become” the drone.
You don’t have a fixed view like on FPV drones.
You can turn your head in all directions , look up, down, behind, and the video follows naturally.
You explore, you search, you observe.
Honestly, this is the first time a drone has given me this feeling.
And that changes everything. Even just for the pleasure of flying.

2. FreeMotion mode: even someone who has never flown can fly
That’s THE thing that blew me away.
You point the controller like a laser… and the A1 goes.
No complicated joystick combinations, no stress, no “I’m afraid I’ll crash it”.
I had my wife, some friends, and even someone who had never touched a drone test it.
Result: everyone was flying after 10 seconds .
It’s instinctive, natural, fun.
And if you want something more classic, you can activate the traditional FPV mode.

3. The concept “I fly first, I frame later”
That’s the magic of 360°.
You fly without thinking about the angle. You enjoy it.
And later, in the app or in Antigravity Studio on PC/Mac, you can crop it as you wish:
- front view
- diving
- low angle shot
- side angle
- dynamic tracking
- 16:9, 9:16, square, whatever you want
You can even do crazy cinematic rotations in post-production.
One single flight = an infinite number of versions.
For content creation, it’s incredible.

4. Smart modes that change the experience
- Sky Path : you define a route, the drone follows it automatically. Perfect for letting someone try out the glasses while the drone flies “smoothly”.
- Sky Genie : automatic movements (arc, spiral, orbit…). Super clean.
- Deep Track : you choose a subject, the A1 follows it perfectly, and since it’s 360°, you can recenter the framing even after the fact.
- AI Edition : you take your clips, you press a button, and the app gives you a video ready to post.
Honestly, I have rarely seen such an accessible solution for such complex images.
5. The overall experience: fun, creative, stress-free
I’ll be honest: this is the most “fun” drone I’ve ever used.
We don’t just fly to film…
We fly because it feels good .
And that’s something you only understand by trying it.
⭐ The limitations I encountered
Obviously, no product is perfect. And the A1 is no exception.
1. Battery life is decent, but not exceptional
The standard battery provides approximately 24 minutes , the high capacity battery up to 39 minutes .
That’s enough, especially since a flight allows you to capture all angles… but if you’re filming a lot, take several batteries.

2. 360° editing requires a short adjustment period.
The app is really well made, but if you want to go far in the creative department:
- You need to learn Antigravity Studio
- understanding keyframes
- managing sometimes large files
That’s normal for 360°, but it’s something to keep in mind.
3. This is not a drone for those who want to film “like a DJI”
If you want classic 4K, fixed framing, very “traditional cinema” shots…
This is not the right tool.
The A1 is a unique drone; it opens up another way of filming.
⭐ Who is the Antigravity A1 for?
👍 Perfect for:
- those who want to live an incredible immersive experience
- travelers who want to capture a unique viewpoint
- Content creators who want versatility + unlimited angles
- beginners who are afraid to fly a drone
- families, couples sessions, group activities
- thrill-seekers without taking risks
👎 Less suitable for:
- those who want a purely “cinematic” image like the DJI Inspire or Air 3
- hardcore FPV pilots seeking extreme speed
- those who want a strictly professional drone
⭐ My verdict after 30 days
The Antigravity A1 is not trying to replace traditional drones.
He creates a new category .
And that’s what’s beautiful about it.
This drone is:
- the most immersive experience I’ve ever had
- the most accessible system for beginners
- a huge source of creativity
- a fun, simple, different tool
- the most advanced 360° drone currently available
This isn’t a drone for everyone…
But if you want to rediscover the joy of flying , exploring freely, and filming from angles impossible with a conventional drone, then the A1 will get you hooked.
